Inclusive City: Den Usette Byen

What would urban development look like if it actively built on the value of diversity rather than erasing it?

As a part of the Inclusive City Oslo urban living lab, Natural State and Fragment have organized a series of city walks focused on discussing the value of diversity in the city.

The goal of the walks is to make visible what is conventionally 'unacceptable' to take up space in the city, and opening up a dialogue about how different types of diversity can be retained in cities. Together we aim to build the capacity of all community members to understand the value of diversity in their communities, and to create a casual and welcoming environment to meet others, learn, and be able to advocate together for change.  Each walk focuses on a place-specific issue, with the goal of listening and seeing the city from the perspective of an excluded or at-risk group.

The walks are organized in collaboration with Norsk Botanisk Forening, Oslo Elveforum, Rosa Bøker, C. Nilsen Møbelverksted, Knut Bendikt Gitarmaker, Studio Håndkraft, Fuglen coffee roasters, Sanke, and Gatestemmer.
