Sustainable city centre development focusing on city life activity and culture
Work for Økern Sentrum AS, Steen & Strøm and Storebrand (2019, 2020)
Økern Sentrum is located right at the heart of Hovinbyen, and has the ambition of becoming Oslo's most important area for sustainable urban development. Hovinbyen is being developed into a new and sustainable city, which in the future will be the home of up to 150,000 people. Økern Sentrum will be the hub of Hovinbyen, and will shape and change Oslo in line with the growth strategies for the city: "Oslo towards 2030: Smart, safe, green" and "Oslo towards 2040: Our city, our future". Natural State was the early stage strategic advisor of the development.
From 2022, Steen & Strøm and Storebrand will create an urban, sustainable and future-oriented city center with dynamic city life, housing, culture, cinema, offices and hotels. In addition, one of Oslo's leading commercial districts is being created with active facades, shops and offers in the streets. The vision is to bring people together, inspire everyday life and create a vibrant atmosphere that has a positive impact on people's lives.
